Matthew, That can be so frustrating. It's hard when working with students who lack motivation and drive to be successful. This is particularly true when our success is dependent on theirs. While we can give them helpful tips on time management, we cannot manage their time for them. Dr. Melissa Read
Elizabeth, I love your thinking. Sometimes our greatest sources of stress can be the greatest things to help us unwind. Your mobile device is a perfect example. If we find a way to turn off alerts and check email a little less frequently, we can leverage some of the more engaging device capabilities like games, music, photos and videos. Dr. Melissa Read

Michael, Interesting perspective. Some instructors would agree that they have the hardest time managing work stress. Others feel that their home life is what's out of control. Carolyn, Sounds like a good plan. Sometimes starting an exercise routine is harder than we anticipate. It's tempting to want to jump right in. I recommend taking it slow and easing into your routine. Most people find that this method is more manageable and reduces the chance of disruptive sports injuries. Dr. Melissa Read

John, At a guess, you are a wonderful instructor and someone who your students rely on daily. This is great direction. At the same time, it is only possible to help so many students and after that point is reached, you may burn out. When you burn out, you can't help the people who need you the most. My recommendation is to pace yourself and give yourself the time you need. This may be a challenge to do at first. You may feel guilty about your focus on you. The reality is though, your students will be better for it.… >>>
