LeeAnn, What is the role of the success coach? Susan Backofen
Ty, Really like the 'education hospitality' mindset! Susan Backofen
Megan , Student mentoring programs can be tricky. New students generally aren't overly excited about them because they seem impersonal and don't necessarily want someone 'checking up' on them. The best ones are opportunities to connect them informally through some group activities so new students feel they have some people to go to if they have questions. Susan Backofen
Karen, This sounds like a wonderful idea....it sends a nice message! Susan Backofen
Kim, This sounds like a great program. I especially like that you are proactive in observing and reaching out. Susan Backofen
Victoria, Excellent idea to have cohorts 'adopt' another! Susan Backofen
LeeAnn, Love the success coach program! Do you do this internally or contract that out? Susan Backofen
Kelly, Excellent point. These are the individuals who often make a huge difference in making students feel connected and welcome. Susan Backofen
Sheila, This sounds like a great format. Susan Backofen
Edith, While some schools do have an on-site counselor, others make arrangements with community agencies or refer students to free emergency counseling services in the area. Susan Backofen
