About me

Activity

Beginning students(Theory), love to ask questions off the topic at hand. I try to delicately tell them to wait until we reach that subject, or let them know we can talk about their subject of interest after class.

Students learning styles are defined in Jumpstart. If each Instructor knew his students learning style, the curriculm could be tailored more toward the way each class learns. Are the Instructors aloud to access this information???
Discussion Comment
Regarding cultural diversity, I remind the students that if they speak other languages, put that on their resume. It may help them to aquire a job.

Your attitude towards the subject, school, curriculm, etc, will be noticed by the student body. Be positive, love what you do, and be excited about the subject matter. If your not, ask to be cross-trained to a new clinic so you will be challenged again.

Students typically zone us out during lectures, so move around the room more, get them out of their seats to look at an engine, and pass around engine parts to examine to keep their interest. Humor and your stories of experience in the industry are also helpful.

Writing the course name and number on the board so the students know they are in the correct class is benificial.

Great Instructors will prepare/organize their classroom prior to students arrival. Your students will easily recognize your thorough preparation or your lack therof.
Instructors who daily motivate their students will keep better retention, higher test scores, and will have happier students!
