More than just one career center staff person, there needs to be a team approach and involvement with teachers, support staff, and administration to identify current practices, guage effectiveness, and ultimately improve what isn't working.
When students are working on community projects that are directly linked to a community need.
I should look to a larger pool of nonprofits and community organizations to add to the group of already growing business and industry to be part of our community efforts.
The agenda could be sent out in advance... the meetings for the entire year could be posted on a public calendar... students could be involved and write thank you notes to business partners.

Blogs are the most risky source of media to use. Television, Radio, and print each provide a benefit-- all different, but beneficial.
How does one most effectively advocate and market CTE locally, when there are limited resources and time? There is a dire need to inform our community about the value and effectiveness of CTE.
The relationship with media outlets is very important-- particularly local media connections. They can help get the word out about important events and projects happening with regard to CTE.

Career Ed Lounge is embedded in over eighty professional development portals serving the career and technical education community. Performance Groups in the Lounge are integrated with related learning opportunities offered on these portals. With a few exceptions, Performance Groups are also publicly available to any member of the Lounge to maximize peer-to-peer learning and performance outcomes.
