Empathy and Motivation are very key emotions that helps you relate to others.  Understanding your emotional Intelligence better help you relate to other emotions.  I will use this by utilizing different scenario's relating to learning topic that encourage these emotions.

I have learned that EI can play a major role in academic learning.  I will try to set the tone for the class to hopefully encourage a positive emotion which would promote a good learning experience.

I have gained a great deal of knowledge in this course.  We have to set the standards and be the example. I honestly belive that true leadership should have Integrity, trust, Morals, and ethics characteristics.  We are the professionals and students are watching our actions and take to heart the example we show.  Its like our parents use to say, when you are in public, understand that you represent more than ourself.  These students are our customers and our goal is to ensure excellent customer service. 

It is our responsiblity to be ensure the information is factual. Noncompliance can alter a students career goals and damage their trust for the school. 

Substantial Misrepresentation can happen even if not intentional, we must be careful how we say things.

Misrepresentation is not based off of intent but the consequences are based off the damage caused.  Also use of words are important, so ensure you think before speaking.

I have learn that core mission and values are standards that we continue to learn and use when repersenting the school and interacting with students.

I have learn about the Triad of Regulation, this is different agencies that plays a major role in schools policy, standards, and accredition. I also learn that not all school have to be accredited, but it is highly reccommended for Title IV funding.  The State is responsible for ensuring instuctors credentialing and licensure.

Culture of compliance is not just a set of rules posted but a standard that we model.  Understanding our actions will effect our department and our students experience.  I believe that we should be honest, professional and kind when enteracting with one other and our student.  Having clear consistent communication that line with our values and mission should have a positive outcome. 

I have learned how to effectively approach online teaching from a student centered forcus.  I better understand this plateform should be consistant, utilizing colors to symbolize a specific forcus in the learning. The layout should be consistant, each module having a discussion board, assignment, assessment, etc.  I also learned to too much of a good thing is not good, for example, video shoukd be used only when needed and should not be too long (no longer than 5-10 minutes) due to student tend to loose focus.  I also better understant that content can be in many form and should be conducive to all learning style.  Most important about content that it should met learning objective of course. … >>>
