Online course evaluation should be an ongoing thing. Having Peers evaluate it is always beneficial.

It's best to correlate the in-seat version and online course together, and yes, there can be group projects. My wife has done some online, as have I. They're certainly doable!
All assignments must map to the Learning Objectives, but one thing that wasn't mentioned is that learning objectives map to the Course Description.

You must create your course that is extremely comparable to the in-seat version.

Clicking and monitoring are not enough. You must check in on submissions, follow-up with missing assignments, and send a few "How's everything going" emails to the entire class.

I always ask a follow-up question, even if it was "Did you have a chance to review the live chat from last night." A yes/no question can still get them engaged.

Adding an original posting to the forum helps them see you as "one of them" but also reminds them you are there as well.
