Grading Test
If you keep your students grades up to date and make up the test within a day or two they can recall the information alot better than a week late, Also this let the other students in the classrom know that you are a good record keeper and you will not let them fall behind in there grades
Bernard,
I agree about appreciation for quick turnarouind. I might even suggest that instructors be required to get test and quiz information back in a timely manner as a policy for good customer service, prompt feedback, and maximum time for students to make needed corrections in their notes, their thinking, and in their application of course content.

Whenever possible, I grade tests within 48 hours and make the test grades available on-line for the students. Students appreciate the quick feedback and it helps keeps the students engaged.
Hi Donald:
It's true frequent grading and grade sharing is important. I think students will try harder if they know where theystand in a class, and if there is an opportunity to do better letting them know as soon as possible works best.

I keep all my records up to date so the students know where they are as far as their grades and points evaluated to date. If they miss a quiz or exam due to an absence they have two days to make it up.
Hi Gary:
Sounds like you've got a good basic dicipline there. I agree students will appreciate the timeliness of testing and reporting of grades.
