Clinical Evaluation
In clinical setting the grade is PASS or NOT PASS. How can I emphesize good students?
Hi Christine:
This is great. I'm a big fan of frequent updates, assessments, and evaluations because when they're frequent, students know where they may ned more mphasis, and there is time to make needed corrections.

I teach cosmetology and so clinical evaluations happen everyday. They have technical's they must do as well as client. Both get evaluated. I let them know when they are doing a good job and when they need improvement. Verbal communication goes a long way.
Angela:
When students have respect for their instructor, it's amazing how powerful simple words of encouragement, kindness, and caring can do to help keep students focused and motivated.

I agree. Verbal recognition is hugely important. Day to day reinforcement is key, especially in a class where that is the only kind they will really get.
Hi Galit:
Encourage and recognition. Even with P/NP grading, theres no reason we can't verabalize and commend exceptional work by students.
