student progress
given at the end of every week to make sure student know where they stand.
Hi James:
One thing that is good about this kind of communication with the student is that it gives them an idea of changes in study habits they may need to make, which can help bring about more positive outcomes for them.

Students are all so different - some only want to know their grades ( progress ) at midterm or at the finals - One has to know the student and at least once a week connect in some way with them and letting them know where they are grade wise.
Peter:
Like a parent, demonstrating, practicing, correcting, trial and error, and a lot of patience, the individual attention we give our students can pay large dividends in the end.

barry: you are correct.there is no substitue for 1 on 1 acticvity with our students in the culinay field. it is more important to be involed with the students on a minute by minute bases in the lab. it allows them to know we are their for them and their future.because they are our future in the culinary field.

Hi Barbara:
Yes. I like that - "batteries recharged!" I think that even if the student is not doing well, they want to know, and that gives us the perfect opportunity to slip in in hints and helps, advice and ecouragement - all focused on both informing and motivating students to do their best. It shows we care and want them to succeed. So, the more frequent we can share quality time like that, the better information retention will be.
Regards, Barry
Yes, student progress updates can encourage better effort as they are informed in the direction they need to be headed. Sometimes a student can have their batteries recharged if they know they are headed in the right direction, or if not, they can be redirected.
Hi Fred:
Adding your personal touch to individuals will pay dividends in terms of respect and connection with the students. That shows you really care about their success.

Evaluation is given on the portal on the weekly progress however we meet daily for a few minutes at the end of the day where they get instant feeedback on their performance.
Hi Farid:
Weekly sharing od staus is great! Many schools have elctronic portals where students can view their grades and tests right up to the moment. That's good, but there's no substitute for 1-on-1 visiting and connecting with your students. It helps build stronger student-teacher relationships.
