Create a Fair Grading System

I create a fair grading system and i incorporate it in my syllabus at the beginning of the quarter. Therefore, all of the students know what is expected. It's all spelled out!!!

Hi Rosetta:
One thing to support your statement - students should be told on the first day, AND have a written rubric given to them to back up that statement. This avoids the invariable "I didn't understand what you meant" phenomenon that students will use to get out of it.

I tell students on the first day of class what the grading policy. No one seems to have any issue with it. Everyone is graded the same way. The grading policy is fair.
