Grading

It was interesting to learn about grading - it makes the past challenges from students come into perspective.

Hi, Angela! Agreed.

I thought the one recommendation for extra credit was novel: asking students to write about something that they learned in the course which was not on the test.

As I see it, there are several benefits of this simple tactic. Doing this helps to stretch students’ minds to think of things that were not covered in the quiz or exam. It also would help me add questions to future quizzes. Finally, it helps me understand what students see as important in the course material vs. what the college or curriculum committee considers is important to know. After all, most of our students are operating from different demographics than their faculty.
