The best question is: "Why?".
You should always ask yourself, "Why have I chosen this method of evaluation?" The course stated that you will be asked to explain why you do what you do and I know this to be true. At a previous school this was a common question to be asked by COE.
Hi Debra,
Great! When the "Why" is emphasized, that's the beginning of the critical thinking process, which really needs to be taught some way, somehow in some part of the program curriculum. No employer wants an employee who has to say, "I dunno, they didn't show me that in school".

Thank you for agreeing. I am Montessori trained (3-6 yr. olds lol) and you would be surprised how that transfers to adult learners. Setting parameters and being proactive are the hall marks but also being able to have up to 30 or more students in the room and constantly assessing each and every one as to understanding of the topic, who needs help or tutoring, etc. No one falls through the cracks on my watch!
Hi Debra,
Being proactive...really is like being willining to be open to change. It's surprising how many teachers are just inflexible in how they do things, along with their unwillingness to make needed changes.

Yes, I like it. You can be proactive then, change it before it is a problem
Hi Marlena,
"Why" is good because it forces a realistic response that if is less than suitable helps identify a better way, or method, or approach to student assessment.
