open commuication tools
it is very important for students to know that the instructor can be reach and can have good communication with the instructor. it is iportant to set hours of when student can call the instructor and also be able to respond within an appropiate time

Unfortunately, it's too easy to say, "I never saw the email". However, if we create a desire for the students to WANT to open and check their emails, that might make for improved electronic communication. For instance, if quiz grades, test scores, or feedback from written work is regularly supplied by email, that'd be one method whereby students would be inclined to check regularly.

I personally wish that students took better advantage of the school email. I have surely noticed that students who do use it are in general more successful. I try to take student's personal emails but this can be confusing. I really try to encourage them to check for emails from me regularly.

Today, with texting, email, and online communications, getting in contact with the instructor has become easier in many ways. Of course, physically visiting during office hours, or tutoring, phone calls, or written notes work too. I always try to create a personal (but professional) relationship with every student. For me, it enhances my ability to reach them because they are already open to me as a person.
