Educational Heros
Dr. Hughey and Dr. Semich, instructors for the Master's program at Robert Morris, taught me how to be a better teacher than I was 10 years ago. I have incorporated many of their techniques and methods. The results have been 90% successful.
I have made changes to my teaching and looking in the mirror, this has been beneficial to the students and myself. A work in progress but better than I was and still learning.
Hi Frederic:
Great comment. We've all learned from others, and some have made an impression on us to the degree it has changed us internally. That's the same kind of spark we want to ignite in our students.
Regards, Barry
I collect heros as I visit other schools and as I meet professionals practicing in their field.
I try to stay alert to "strong" examples of teaching and mentoring as I meet people in my daily experience.
Hi Beth:
You emphasize an important point about all of us learn from someone. And anything we have has started with an inspired and motivated individual willing to share some of their expertise to the degree it imparts and directs individuals to bigger and better outcome.
