Unders standing yourself as an instructor.
I believe that when you know yourself, as a human being aka the instructor. You can recognize your strengths and weaknesses. This inturn will help you to be more organized and positivre the class. No panic sitiuation. You will be able to prepare for your weaknesses. Be come more confident.
Hi Geraldine:
I think we all have some idea of what we're good at. We probably have a less clear idea of what needs improving.
So I suggest that any activity we can do that will illuminate or expose hidden weaker areas, we should be open to. Making a committment to correct these should also be a part of the improvement plan.

Understanding yourself as an instructor is a very important part of preparing to teach a class.
I usually go through my demonstration in my head and I actually do a run of it by moving around in my lab. I always find something that I forgot to prepare and this helps me have an excellent demo.=)
Hi Abraham:
I think better teachers have a firm and realistic concept of their abilities. This adds to their confidence as individuals, and competence as teachers. These traits just natually flow. As you point out, being open to feedback and a willingness to adapt is part of that strength and desire to improve.

when you know yourself well ,that,s transferable to making your delivery better based on your strenghs and on the other hand you can get a better feedback from your students and make an interactive setting of your class.
