Field Trips
I think that field trips are an excellent way to get students involved. It lets them see the "real world" and how things are outside of the classroom.

Yes, I really agree in the benefits of field trips. One reason is some students often have a limited understanding about the profession they're training for, and the field trip exxperience can open their eyes to one or more of common activities and work settings they're being trained for. For others, what a great way to break the normal routine of class.

Field trips are a great way to keep the students engaged as well as excited about their field of study. These trips energize them and help to keep them focused on the ultimate goal of obtaining their certification or degree.

Another thing field trips may allow the student to do is speak with individuals about topic matter you've covered in class, and get a perspective about that topic from someone who uses it on a regular basis.

I agree field trips give students a clearer picture of what they will do in the work world. You can also use it as a method of introducing non-traditional but more exciting roles within their chosen field.
