Adapt to Change
Instructors should embrace change to become more effective in the classroom.
Hi Kristina:
Good point - much good can come from fresh perspectives. The problem is the idea of "comfort zones", and how unwilling most people are to get out of theirs.
That said, it might be wise for instructors to adopt an attitude of flexibility when it comes to trying new things because some good can come out of it that refreshes the energy of the class.

I found that changing the text for a class I was teaching turned out to be the best thing that could happen as far as "forcing" me to create new activities for my students. I was a bit stuck on tried and true methods that were getting a little outdated.
As an instructor, I constantly keep at the forefront of my mind adaptability. I always ask my fellow instructors if they feel that it is ok to reuse the same lesson plans from class to class and from year to year, when our students, education and times are constantly changing. We must be flexible enough to grow, utilize new instructional methods to meet the needs of our students in 21st century world.
I completely agree. Humility is golden in a person's personality, this will in turn make an individual a better instructor if they can admit a method which works well for them may not be best for the class. Needing to adapt to change and perhaps new methods without reservation, will pay off in the long run.
