Personality of the Instuctor

The personality of the instuctor and their mood sets the atmosphere for the class on a daily basis in my opinion. The attitude should be one that is friendly and respectable. Always professional.

Hi Jackie:
You point out something really interesting - there is diversity in the type of instructors that exist out there.

Here, we try to promote the concept of balance when it comes to personality. Not too much of any one thing due to the possiblity it can distract the student.

But, not everyone is interested or motivated by the idea of balance, and thus may suffer some consequences as a result (loss of credibility, etc.).

Regards, Barry

I agree, You have the ability to control the room with your attitude. It is very difficult to stay focused worring about the world outside the classroom. I often tell students when they walk threw the door now is the time of the day it's all about you. You are here because you want to learn this lets do whatever we can to achieve your goals.

Having had an instructor while I was in my career school who was a mini-dictator in a dress was daunting. She demanded academic excellence, was unbending in her interpretation of the materials to be covered and the way in which they were covered as well as intimidating to speak with one-to-one. Hated her and loved her all in the same breath. Really wanted to screech and howl in dismay at the unbending nature she presented, but, working around it to absorb the materials and learn them for life-long use after graduation made me study even harder than I would have normally.

The personality of the instructor sets the tone for the entire class. An upbeat, happy, engaging teacher equals a classroom of happy learners. Students often mirror our moods.

I agree totally and feel it is impt. to know your own strengths and weaknesses in this area.

I fully agree with the concept.

I fully agree with his point of view.
