Enable you to enable the students
Build excitement to bring the class together can only happen if you are knowledgable. You must have reviewed the course and be ready to relay the information to the students.
Keep control of the class by making all students involved and excited in the learning. Change up the worksheets to various colored backrounds ketching the sight and attention of syudents.
Marge,
Terrific! We all have various past experiences, training and education, and work perspectives that are unique and extremly valuable to eager students wanting to learn a new trade. Bringing that bouquet of past knowledge in an environment of interest and enthusiasm helps prepare students to be their best.

I find that I am excited about my subject area and as a teacher I've discovered just how much I look at everyday occurences through the lens of my professional background. I think this is what adds to that aura of excitement and I'm able to bring this into the classroom. It's also energizing to see when students "catch" my excitement. It's part of what keeps me going.
Hi Ellen:
Competence and confidence go hand in hand. When I know the material (preparation, past education and experience), and I am enthusiastic about it's delivery, there is a momentum of energy that created that can draw students to participate, to listen and learn, be involved - be engaged. And like you've expressed, there are many ways to approach that. It's hard to overcome the benefits of a positive, upbeat learning environment.
Regards, Barry
