Classroom Planning
Careful planning and personal touches will make your classroom a home away from home for your students. If you make the classroom a place in which your students feel at ease, you will have a better opportunity to produce willing, active learners. I personally do the following; I determine a seating arrangement and make sure it is appropriate for the instruction or activities I have planned. I make sure desks are arranged so that all students can comfortably see whiteboard and overhead screen. Lastly, I do my best to create learning centers with fun activity.
Jeffrey,
Great way to save paper (and support "go green"). When students have access to the materials they need, this gives a bit more accountability along with resources they need for class.

Brian,
Visual and handling are great ways to reinforce material an instructor wants their students to remember. Because mutiple senses are involved, it helps the long term memory process.

I leave props or, parts out in different places in the room for the students to look at. I think this helps because they can see the part while I'm talking about it and even durring tests, they can have a visual reminder to help them remember.
Kimberly,
The learning environment can be a major factor in how the student veiws their learning experience. Creating an inviting, effective, and practical atmosphere pays tribute to creative teachers who recognize the importance where and when things happen in the classroom and related facilities. Also, being sensitiuve to student needs can be an important consideration, as you point out.
