Guest Speaker Frustration
I teach the basic level courses at the college where I instruct. It is very difficult to come up with a guest speaker of a field trip when almost all of the different majors and programs are represented in my classroom.
I am open to any suggestions you all may have.

I agree that it is difficult to plan field trips, but with the technology revolution....teachers can plan "virtual field trips" and interviews. I use technology to support instruction daily.

One thing every student has in common is they're in school to get a (better) job. So, topics by guest speakers like job search, interviewing, soft skills, professionalism might be applicable. Another category could be the benefits of giving back through community service. Yet another idea is a recent past graduate who is working. Where they lack too much work experience, they usually make up for it with their familiarity with the school, and their upbeat excitement and enthusiasm.
