Present Material

Power Point slides provide an instructor the means to present material that will appeal to all learning types

Hi David:
Good - knowing the "flow of the class" can definitely contribute to preparing for and delivering a more tailor-made classroom experience. That usually leads to better student learning outcomes.

Regards, Barry

there has to be a balance of leaarning media. It is up to the instructor to read the class and make adjustments accordingly.

Hi Ronnie:
I think a little flash or "bling" now and then can be helpful, but too much is distracting. After a while, the flash becomes just as distracting. It may be better to break into a diiferent activity, then return to your PPT lesson.

Regards, Barry

if a power point slide seems to be borring or to drawn out things like laser gun sounds or flashing collors can be added to help keep there minds active.

Hi Steve:
Your use of PPT is very appropriate. Almost like a summary. The slides provide a starting point for futher discussion, reading, or study.

Regards, Barry

Hi Thomas:
Good formatted PPT's, appropriately sequenced with just enough information can be very helpful. But PPT isn't everything, and good instructors will use a variety of media choices. This keeps the interest and attention of students - hopefully leading to better student learning outcomes.

Regards, Barry

Hi Brian:
I think PPT leans more to visual learners. But the way the PPT is used can be adapted to fit all learning styles and learning environments. Soemtimes we have to be creative to make the point using PPT.

Regards, Barry

I use the powerpoint more as a prompt than anything else. The points on the screen need to be explained for the student to understand the concept many times and the screen sometimes helps them to maintain the direction we are headed in.

maybe pp can be a tool but . some don't hold their attention . mixed media works good . Because of the mixed student body.
