As and instructor, you have to have passion in the subject matter you are presenting. If you are enthusiastic about the subject, the students can see that and will be more open to the information being given.
I am outgoing and talkative, so I prefer to use visual presentations like PowerPoint and Prezi that allow me to have fun with a lecture. Both provide the colorful point of interest, topics and objectives, and provide the flexibility to adjust the presentation speed to the pace of the class. This makes it easy to pause for discussion, short theory-testing experiments, or other activities. Students also like to have the slide handouts printed so they can refer to the material later for review.
