Learning new skill

When a student needs to do a new skill, he/she verbilized to me fisrt the steps that requires for the skill. Then if he/she agrees more students are coming to watch and learn

Hi Darlene:
When it comes to new skills and content, most agree that one of the most effective method that addresses the visual and kinesthetic type of learner is any hands on approaches or activities that can be used.

Hello, I agree most students will try their best. I love to demonstrate our skills with students as clients. They seem to be very interestd. Then they practice with a purpose

Hi Karla:
Demonstration and return demonstration is a very tried and true method for students to learn.

Regards, Bary

I strongly agree. My culinary students, watch me perform a demonstration, we discuss as much so they can feel prepare to go back and try to reproduce the same thing I have done in my demo. Once I see that their product looks and taste just like my demostration, then I can say that they have developed the skill that was covered.

Hi Lionel:
I believe most students want to try their best, given an opportunity. When we can demonstrate what is expected, most students will be able to have an idea of what's expected and then try to duplicate that activity.

This is sound for routine or skill oriented activities. Demo's help less with critical thinking skills or applications and analysis type of situtaion. But they provide a good foundation.

Regards Barry

Agree with you ,demo is the key to success for them, you can show them any situation or problem that they can face as well how to fix or avoid those situation.

Hi Galit:
Students defitely learn by watching others. Demonstrating, discussing, and practice all enhance new skill development.
