Multisensory Learning for Language Classes

Does anyone have any good suggestions for multisensory learning for a language class? We already cover visual, hearing and tactile pretty well but I find it hard to incorporate smell or taste. Suggestions?

Some activities are easier to incorporate other senses than others. For instance, when we work on critique, sometimes I'll bring in snacks for students to evaluate. I encourage them to taste the snacks so they can better describe and evaluate their flavors.

I like Barry's suggestion about requiring them to use three different adjectives. I like physically having the snacks in front of them so they don't have abstractly imagine the treat.

Hi Sarah:
The obvious activity that comes to mind is to bruing in a variety of food, condiments, spices, etc. In the language of instruction, have student describe the taste and smell of a variety of substances. Have them try to describe mustard using three different adjectives. Isn't fluent conversing about everyday subjects one of the goals? This might be one way to achieve that.
