Using powerpoints for test prep

Is it appropriate to provide students with copies of powerpoint presentations from previous lessons to use in test reviews? I feel that this conditions some students to forgo note-taking during the lesson, knowing that all they have to do is wait for the handouts at the end of the lecture.

I loved your idea of using PowerPoint for test questions! It is a good technique to use before a final exam; and, you can also find out if students are transferring knowledge learned to new situations.

I use powerpoints with sample test questions on each slide. We play a game where the winning team (the one with the most correct answerers) will receive addditional bonus points. It becomes quite competetive at times.
