Understanding the students individual learning styles
With students learning style being different. It is a great advantage to teach to touch every sense of learning style in the classroom. Versatile teaching enables me to connect with all the students. Some learn by hearing, while others are visual or hands on. As an instructor I am committed to going the extra mile to ensure that I am reaching all the students when lecturing.
Michael,
Very nice. And the principle is true. If we want to reach our students, we have to understand where they're at to begin with and go from there. For me, this is part of what makes education exciting and contributes to my job satisfaction as an educator.

Personalization is almost mandatory when you have a bunch of different skill levels in a class, as I currently do. Then again, I have to go by Galileo's quote that says "You cannot teach a man anything; you can only help him discover it in himself." (or something to that effect) The implication is that finding the motivation for each student is the first part of the puzzle; once you have their interest, you can proceed!
Carolyn,
I learn best in very select, perhaps even convoluted ways. That's me. Most classes have a roomful of "me's". So your statement about "constant awareness" is spot on. Personalization and individual attention is one way to try to reach all students all the time. At least, it's help.

Again I support this philosophy 1000%. In order for instruction, training, learning and education to be congruent and meaningful, educators must address and be aware continously of students' learning styles.
Hi Demelece,
Awesome. The more personalized we can make the learning environment for each student, the better the outcomes and work applications will be in the end.
