Presentation Methods
I generally stick to Power POint and internet videos. My power points tend to be very generalized so that students aRE ENGAGED IN LECTURE TO GET ALL THE INFO.
Rodney,
Variety such a s you describes also helps keep student interest, and contributes to better retention of learned material.

I also like power point and videos. The power point slides introduce the students to new material and the videos helps to give the student a visual on the subject.
Carolyn,
Inserting video is fairly easy. First, one has to save a video file somewhere on the computer they're creating the PPT. After that, it's just like inserting any file. In the PPT ribbon, go to "Insert", then select "Video", then search for your file, then insert it. Viola!

What a good idea to use embedded video's! Please suggest how I can do that! I tend to use PP but my students are busy trying to write info from the slides down in their notes. Also I'm probably using too many slides with too much content. I tend to lose my students interest during lecture.
Shannon,
I use PPT to provide talking points, as reading information from slides is not the best way to read course information. Embedded video's do enhance the presenation. I find shorter (2-3 minute) video's work best because longer ones tend to have students begin to lose focus.
