Presentation Materials
What are some of your preferred presentation materials? Does anyone still use an overhead projector? I knew quite a few teachers who did when I was in school. I started seeing powerpoint more when I was in college. Do you like cartoons/animations to get your point across? What about posters?

All media that effectively conveys an idea, stimulates thought, promotes understanding, and engages students in an interesting way is worthwhile in my opinion. Overhead? Why not. I always try to determine what is the best way to impart the needed material in a lesson. I try to mix it up for variety. One other point is the seeming reliance on PPT slides. PPT is one (of dozens) "tools" that can be used. But like any tool it has a specific purpose. Beyond that, I'll choose more preferred methods before I automatically choose a PPT presentation.
