Taking a slightly different tact, I think of wisdom as a guide for living, whereas knowledge provides the foundation for understanding, and understanding creates greater wisdom.

I believe that somewhere in the Old Testament it is written that "knowledge and understanding" leads to "wisdom."
Personally, I believe that wisdom is then the doorway to enlightenment.
