Teaching Styles

I Try to teach and instruct by considering all the different type of learning styles. Implementing them into my class ensures me that no student is getting left behind. I also tell my students that if they are having trouble learning to speak with me so that I may approach a different way in delivering the material.

Hi Maikel,
Visonary thought, mind imaging, abstract weaving of ideas - I would argue these are ways to evoke deeper personalization from material presented in class.

I agree that the view is important, also the hearing, we must find different ways to make the class more emotional for the students, but there are established patterns that we should practice, selecting the right material in different ways is one of them and often do not.

Hi Antonio:

One idea when selecting course material and media is to try employ as many teaching styles as we can in order to address as many learning styles as possible. Selecting material and presenting it in a visual, audio, and kinesthetic way is generally considered the most efficient method of delivery.

We must be able to have different teaching styles because not every student learns the same way , some require visuals , some require hands on , while others learn with a simple lecture .

Teaching different learning styles can be a problem. I use different methods and incorporate different activities as well.

My teaching style incorporates all of the styles. Lecture will only reach a few students, demonstrations reach a few and then I have them get involved with some hands on experience.

I have had quite a few students that truly need the three styles combined to "get it".

Dealing with the medical math topic I have found that repetitive actions work best where in pharmacology it is hands on by filling prescriptons.

I use several different presentation methods in each class to try to engage all learning styles. I use Ppt, blackboard, videos, assessments, quizzes readings from the text and discussion groups.

I try to teach to all the different learning styles in my class. I usually walk around the classroom during my hands on demonstration so that I can see if a student is having problems. I always tell students to tell me if they are having problems so we can get them back on the right track.
