lesson plan templates

Where can I find templates for massage therapy lesson plans?

The syllabus is 30 words; the text is 30 pages for a 12 week course. The students come from several fields of study. The instructor has freedom, but preparation is time consuming.
Objectives are critical and a great responsibility. In order for the students to have a track to run on, they need to receive their test questions at the beginning of the unit. Multiple choice questions should be part of the mix because, the instructor can fine tune each question, to determine how well they measure student competency. Giving the students a few discussion questions before class has helped them prepare for the concepts they will master today.

There are really no templates that I know of personally for massage therapy lesson plans. I too teach massage at a career college. It's really hard for me to teach massage according to the lesson plans developed by "outsiders" in the cookie cutter "education world" because they don't always fit what it is we want to teach.

For me, when I've had the opportunity to prepare my own lesson plans, I look at what it is I want to present for that day, break it down into "chunks" of information and hands-on, break that stuff down further still, and, then, I find I have a significant and well-planned lesson plan.

Hope that helps.

Anita,

Does your institution supply standardized lesson plans or are instructors allowed to create their own?
