Relating the information you present to what the student may face in a real world situation is always key and it reiterates why we teach what we do. I love talking about things that I have been apart of in the field whether it is good or bad, as long as it helps my students retain the information, it is all good information.

I have been working in the medical field for many years, so I always keep my students attention as I am lecturing by including on the job experiences.

What a good idea. Also, you can bring up those disasters that happen to reinforce what not to do. Having interesting and funny stories to relate always makes the information stick better

A game of Jeopardy relating to course content is always fun.

I agree! as long as the topics are covered: have a good time. Bringing in comicial situations that appy to your topic that may have happened to you are great.

it is important to enjoy yourself and make the lecture fun for your students.

I agree, making the class dynamic encourages student involvement and makes learning fun.

I will bring up a recent case at the clinic to help the students understand the importance of the topic of the day.

Agreed. We can all vouch that sitting in a room listening to someone talk for 2 hours can be rather boring.yiur students just be engaged in the lesson. Discussions are a must and a little appropriate humor here and there makes the learning experience fun and memorable.

This is an absolute must in my opinion... I teach a night course and sometimes it's very difficult to engage students after a long day... Just keep a healthy balance of learning time and fun time...
