YOU WANT TO MAKE SURE YOUR STUDENT UNDERSTAND YOUR OBJECTIVE FOR THE LESSON SO THEY CAN APPLY IT TO THE SUBJECT THAT YOU ARE TEACHING SO THEY CAN STAY IN TUNE WITH THE SUBJECT.
Not only will the students be able to evaluate what they have learned but by following and understanding the learning objective the students will also know what they are going to be tested on.
I agree that students need to be able to understand the objectives for the lessson. Outlining the objectives will give meaning and purpose to the lesson that is being taught. Objectives gives the students expectations for the topic that is being taught.
Once students understand the learning objective, they will consider it as a goal which they will work toward over the course duration. Also students will be able to evaluate their knowledge according to the objective.
