Learning Objectives
Students love to be challenged and introduced to new and exciting things especially when it comes to learning.
Exactly. All students can read the textbook. It's up to the instructor to challenge the student with assignments that prepare them for their future jobs.
I agree and a big part of their success is that they stay engaged during the whole process while assessing the skill set that you're testing them on. I like to them to problem solve the problem and find different solutions to the answer, just in case something goes wrong.
in order to keep students interested they must be challenged.
Students need to be challenged with projects that allow them to apply what they've learned in a particular lesson.
I totally agree. I am teaching a very lecture heavy class and my challenge is to get them excited about the content which in this case is history. I am working very hard to pull out examples of how history leads to changes and how they themselves can change history.
I agree that the students like to see new and exciting things, but not everything is exciting to all so it's important to spend a limited amount of time on "exciting" things especially when the course material has few of these items.
I to feel that one must make sure that the students are being challenged. I do think that you can lose your students if they are not being challenged enough no matter how well your class is planed out.
