Integration of technology
In the field of cosmetology traditionally the course is taught through application and theory. However, with the surge of social media many trends and cutting edge techniques are being featured in video clips that are up-loaded in-line. Being able to use avenues such as these brings another dimension to the classroom, improving the dynamic of both teaching and learning.
For me it is controlling it in a classroom setting and how the technology can be used so that the student does not abuse it or rely on it as their only source. Any suggestions out there?
Forrest,
Do you typically have large classes for the courses at your institution? If not, do you find any difficulty with using "clickers" for your lectures, in smaller classes?
Tremayne Simpson
Our campus has started using "clickers"- remotes that interact with special power point slides. The students can anonymously respond to questions during the lecture using their remote. Great assessment tool- and instant feedback!
