introducing technology to the class room is a fun exciting way to keep student engaged when you are planning on using new support materials. how far would you go in a class setting with new technology?
I've used You Tube videos to help accentuate some of my lecture themes.
In our course of study (dentistry) technology is so expensive to intergrate into the dental office that if I take the time to teach the technology, it is only 1 out of 10 offices that are willing to spend the amount of money it requires to intergrate the technology into that office. I feel that using valuable class time teaching that technology might be better served teaching more mainstream subject matter.
There are so many ways to engage the students using technology. We will be integrating ipads and having the students use them in class and doing activities with them in class.
I do agree, however with individuals returning to the class at a later time in life, there is much technology that has changed, and they need to be acclimated to the current technology even if out of their comfort zone.
