Student’s Role in Adaptive Learning
What is the student’s role in adaptive learning?
students role in adaptive learning should include in class participation. listening, engaging, working in group activities to get a better view of teaching and understanding. They must stay engaged to benefit from adaptive learning.
This question is interesting because it really is nothing new. Students should always take an active role in their education but all too often there are some that feel that they just want to be spoon-fed. This attitude will not result in success without instructor guidance and continual influence on their students. You simply cannot succeed as a student if you aren't guiding your education. The same is true in an online or blended environment. Education at your own pace has the capabilities of pitfalls but it is up to the individual on whether or not they take their educational experiences seriously.
I agree, students have to be willing to participate, this type of learning might be difficult for some older students that have been out of school for some time or they came from a school that didn't teach this way.it can be a tough sell.
The students must be ready and willing to participate in adaptive learning. If a student is not willing to apply themselves and spend the necessary time that the course requires they will not benefit from a adaptive learning course.
