Adaptive Learning Technology Tools

Based on your course, what tools would you like to use for adaptive learning if they were available?

I would like to see adaptive learning technology tools with students using more of the apps, computers, research papers etc. this will help them to be productive in researching and writing papers at a faster rate.

Jo,
Very good point. We can't always be there for students 24/7! Thanks for being in the class.

I teach medical coding and offer tutoring to the students that are struggling to understand. Am intelligent tutor would be very helpful to compliment my lectures and assignments. The student would be able to get help 24/7 instead of the set hours that I have available for tutoring.

I would like to look further into the 'small-scale' apps. Since we are beginning a large-scale pilot first, it might be good to see other areas to make an impact should the large-scale pilot not pan out.

Theodore,
Motivation is a great thing. But I often wonder how to make students motivated.

More and more tools for adaptive learning are becoming available. There are videos available on the internet like “YouTube” that are available to help students understand the required material of a course. The student can watch the videos over and over again. There are computer application that come with the text books that can supply students with problems to solve. Answers and explanations on how to solve the problems are included to help students obtain the skills necessary to solve the problems. The technology is now available and as the learning application become refined their use will allow students to learn more efficiently. All the students need is motivation.

I think a combination of things that are visual as well as audio would help. Asking students to read through the material is great, if they are those types of learners. However I think some students are visual learners and need to "see" it rather then read it. Also being able to hear it would help as well.
