Interactive learning/games

In my classroom in order to keep the students active in class I introduce games. Brainteasers are always a big hit. Medical terminology is intimidating to new students but, by turning it into a game suchs as: Bingo or Medical Scrabble the students respond much better

Hi Juan,
Students enjoy the fun part of learning this is the reason as to why this is all what they want to do. Having fun while learning is enjoyable and effective because students retain the information.

My main area of Education is Automotive, there sometimes is a lot of theory that has to go on in the classroom before the application can happen.
Mostly high school graduates, its tough to keep them "motivated"
I play a "baseball game" They get a multiple choice test. Then I split the room into two teams. On the white board is a "baseball field"
With sticky balls each student at bat aims at a spot on the board. If they land on a home run, they must first correctly answer a random question from the multiple choise test. Only drawback is that sometimes its all they want to do!

Hi Regina,
Knowledge retention is a lot greater when fun is involved with learning.

Hello Kimberly,
I definitely agree with games such as bingo, charades and even hot potatoe because it gives the students a chance to review the information they were given that day in a fun and active way.

Hi Kimberly,
Students love having fun while learning. Anytime you can include a game in the learning process, you should.
