In my class i find in interacitve learing is getting the item that I am talking about in there hands.Then asking if the part looks like what they had pictured from lecture.Most of the time it turns the switch on in there head and you can see it in reaction in there face that they got it.This way you know that you got point across to the. That is the best benfit that I have found that they got it.

Active learning works well for me by giving the lecture verably and at the same time use all kinds of cut aways of the subject. and then take any feed back from the students that they have to offer or i will throw out questions to them pertaining to the subject matter.

I have found that most of us learn better with hands on active learning but the instruction before the activity should help to take away the fear of High risk. Those of us that have achieved success before .Have no problem doing it again and again. When my students go to lab I want them not to fear the lab or activity. Success is found in achieving with out fear.

For the most part our students are hands on people ans let you know from the first. I like to break up the lecture into parts and pass around a part of a component and let them, in small groups try to figure out how it works. Then a little more lecture and another part. Now tell me how it works and how it is related to the last part and so on. Then out to lab and work on the whole component. Then review time and test. Chuck Peters

In Advanced Diagnostics class I try to get as much live work as possible. When we can't get live work we have set up lab vehicles with realistic type problems that the student can diagnosis using the methoeds we talked about in lecture.

I love this approach. I like to tell my students what we are going to do and why. I explain, do it, and then have the students do it. Students tend to retain more by me taking this approach.

when i teach course 102 we talk about measurments of different types so i show them how too do it then have them do it in class and it makes it easier in lb for them
