Active Learning

As a teacher I feel like active learning is key in seeing students progress. It involves the students individually and allows room for the students to interact with fellow classmates as well as their instructor.

Hi Theodore,
Students retain it, when they can actually do it. Active learning is a great way to determine if students understand the concept.

I agree that active learning is a key to student progress. During active learning students demonstrate their learning. When they run into a problem, they are more able to ask questions. The question can be answered by other students or the instrutor. The answers to these questions lead to the student gaining a better understanding of the subject matter.

I like to break up the lecture alot of times and ask the students to try to relate other princibles that are simular,to the princibles I have just covered If I can raise a few qwestions I know I'm getting the point across.I work in the automotive trade and alot of my course has simular obgectives.Get them involed in the lecture and your teaching skills will show.

Hi Mackenzie,
I concur! Active learning really shows if a student understands or not.
