Active Learning
Having served as an adjunct instructor for both online and campus-based classrooms for the past two years, it has been quite interesting to compare and contrast various methods of teaching.
During this course module it was very enlightening to review the specifics regarding low and high risk activities for active learning. In the future I will be much better prepared regarding how to effectively integrate both type of activities into the classroom setting. I came across an excellent quote that is very applicable to this course.
“Student engagement is the product of motivation and active learning. It is a product rather than a sum because it will not occur if either element is missing.â€

Hi Susan,
College itself is stressful. We need to provide as much clarity to our students to minimize stress.

As I have reviewed this class I have been able to learn some new ideas for my classes. I know that I need to be on the look out for high stress activities that I may place my students in and be prepaired to have them be placed in a safe situation so they can express themselves.
Hi Sherry,
Students love it when the class is highly interactive. Students would rather be doing.

I already have some new ideas for making some adjustments to my classes!
Hi David,
Awesome quote and it is so true!
