ACTIVE LEARNING

ACTIVE LEARNING IS SO IMPORTANT HERE AT OUR TRADE SCHOOL. THE STUDENTS DONT REALLY LIKE THE CLASSROOM LECTURES OR READING.JUST GIVE THEM SOME HANDS ON ACTIVITIES AND THEY ARE PROACTIVE AND EAGER TO GET THE TASK DONE.

Hi KEVIN,
Students love it when hands-on activities are involved.

I agree with the practice of giving students some hands on activities so even during lecture I will incorporate product identification and tasting to get the students more active.

Hi John,
When variety is added, boy does time fly. Remember, when you are having fun, time does fly.

I try to use equal amounts of hands on skill development and lecture. Lectures are interactive with lots of discussion. Class time passes very quickly

Hi Kathleen,
This serves as a great way to get students involved.

Bruce, I do this as well in my classroom. As I am explaining a new body system to the students and giving a brief overview, I have them demonstrate to me the use of the body sytem.

Hi James,
I love this approach. I tell my students what we are going to do, then I do it, and then have them do it. This approach really produces effective learning. Students love this approach as well.

I would have to agree with Bruce. Our Students prefer going over the concepts, then demonstrating the concepts to them, then they try to repeat the same concepts. It was worked wonders for some students and it saves my voice from lecturing too long.

Hi BRUCE,
I have seen this! Students love it when hands-on activities are involved, and they really retain the information from doing.
