Using Passive activities technique to the students are best involvement and participation in class and also one way to remember the subject matter.
Hi James,
It makes for an exciting course when you can get great participation from students. I give a participation grade in each course to encourage participation.

I Agree that classroom participation is key. It keeps students attention on the subject. They are least likely to fall asleep and can connect better with the information partly because they feel part of the discussion.
Hi Josue,
Yes, you are on point! Students want to do hands-on activities. It is a great change from the normal lecture.
Patricia Scales
I strongly agree. I feel that when student's are involved in the classroom setting, they feel like they are a part of something enhancing their social and networking abilities...while enjoying and having fun.
Hi James,
I concur! Hands-on teaching is an effective method because students love it, and they retain what they have learned. A great combination is having fun while learning.
Patricia Scales
allowing student to participatate with hands on impacts them more and they retain much more of the lecture
Hi Kira,
Students really do enjoy getting with each other and working together in order to accomplish their goal. Students really learn a lot from each other.

I agree, student involvement is the way to go. My students are enjoying their group presentations and individual presentations to the classroom.

Hi Natarsha ,
Yes, it does! Students love hands on, and they need it in order to be successful in the real world.

I teach the hands on portion of pharmacy tech. The students tend to enjoy this class because of all of the involvement that takes place. The students are "aggressive and ready" to jump in immediately on these days. It definitely does help with learning process when they are able to do hands on.
Hi Lynae,
Great approach. Simple, yet effective. I understand it!

As a coprorate restaurant trainer in the 80's we were taught trainer says, trainer does, employee says and employee does. I use this approach to education where applicable.
Hi Jonathan,
Most learners are visual learners/hands-on. If I can see it done or if I do it, I better understand it!
Patricia Scales
I agree I find when I pass around a part or a tool the students seem to understand it purpose a lot more. I was this type of learner myself very hands on.
Hi Marlene,
When students are involved, especially hands on they tend to remember more. Involvement brings about positive results.
