Class room drama/role-playing

I throughly enjoy implementing drama or role-play
activities in the class room. I find they allow the students
to discuss, analyze, and problem solve challenges they will
encounter in the workplace. It also provides a measure of humor for all to enjoy.

In addition, concluding with a discussion based on the activities or additional points completes the overall learning process. Helping all to appreciate that there is more than one way to resolve a conflict or problem.

My Students enjoy role playing because it allows them the opportunity to act out the situation and helps them be creative and think critically.

Hi Teresa,
Students love role playing and the learning has proven to be very effective from role playing.

Role playing is a huge part of the learning experience in my class. Career Development has many avenues for role playing for example: Peer to Peer mock interviews, office etiquette: proper conduct when answering the office phone (scripted). Role playing helps students foster their problem solving skills, which is important in any career choice.

Hi Karen,
Great activity to prepare the student for the real world.

While role playing, I enjoy having the student play the position of physician, nurse, and patient. They receive no prep time to show them that any scenerio will appear. I find this very effective.

Hi Kitt,
Students tend to enjoy role playing, and they learn a lot from role playing. Role playing is a teaching method that allows students to really showcase their critical thinking abilities.
