William I totaly agree with your reply, we must conduct ourselves as professionals, if we do this it will rub off on other around us.

Good point. To expect professionalism one must act professional. Instructors are to be the models for the students. If we don't act professional it is for sure the students won't. You are right about taking the first step.

Good points that you make about how instructors are to conduct themselves. We are models and we need to conduct ourselves as such. Language is a key part of our conduct. A recent study revealed that a majority of the customers lost in the service industry was as a result of the dress, language and conduct of the service provider. The customers didn't think the techs could do the job since they didn't talk,look or act like professionals.

Yes, I think rough language in this professional setting should not be used. I am offended when my students use that language. I also think this type behavior whether it is the students or the instructors should not be tolerated.
