Instructor as a model
To avoid having disipline problems and to have your students pay attention to the lesson, you should present yourself as a role model. This means dress properly and neatly, be well groomed and speak clearly and properly.
:-D Being a roll model is absouletly nessary expecally in attitude, choice of words and apperance. The students need these examples to follow because they dont know how to act in the field. They only know how to act with family, friends and school but not as a professional in the field. Theirfore we must show them.
It is important for a instuctor to set the standard for the class in all areas of dress attitude and abiding by all rules. It should be do as i do not do as i say.
I feel the same how can we as role models judge our students if we are not providing a good example. lead by example.
Paying attention in class can also be accomplished by varying teaching approaches within the lecture time.
