Motivator

Being enthusiastic and energetic about your course content and informing the students "whats in it for them" acts as one of the best motivators!

John you are very correct....as a motivator we can have a good/great impact on the student by modeling a positive attitude, one tempered with the reality of life...not all days or activities go as planned...sometimes there are hurdles, challanges to overcome...as they say keeping it real is the best...they can see your genuine love of the course material and this can help them view long term for themselves...

When you love what you do and love your course content your passion will drive others to be enthusiastic too. I share my love for my course content (automotive) by telling students about all my experiences, challenges and victories. Even my mishaps I share with a humorous twist.
I really enjoy working with automobiles so I am constantly still involved with working on them. My life is filled and surrounded by my course content, my passion poors out of every inch of my soul. Even one of my first words was wee-walls which was wheels in toddler talk. My students usually share the same feelings and then when you show them how they can achieve what you have, they are enthusiastic too.

I agree, I've tried to show through my instruction my passion for my profession.
