Methods of Keeping Focused on the lesson topic

I am being given the opportunity to do a short presenation for students who desire to become teaching assistants.

The short presentation is to be about methods of any presentor / instructor staying on subject.

I welcome any short personal experiences either good or the less than desired to be avoided.

I will omit your name if I am able to fit your example into my presentation.

Any ideas welcomed up to this Friday morning.

My presentation will be this Friday at 9:00 a.m.
California time.

Thanks!

offten students will have comments unrelated to the subject. I usually acknolage but move on reminding them that we have a certain period of time and need to stay on task

Maybe you could go into the desighn of the articles to show some good features and bad ones.I find this always brings qwestions from the students talk about how it was made.

Sounds interactive, thanks Billy! Just curious, do you ever have students try to identify the part, or relationship of parts, on the real motorcycle after viewing the training aids, but before your demonstration?

After talking with powerpoint for a while I will show training aids then get them up and show the part we have been discussing on a real motorcycle. Getting them out of the chairs for a few minutes seems to help quite a bit. I bring in real world experences that seems to keep them focused as well.
